Bigg Boss Telugu Season 4: winner, top 5, contestants and every elimination
Abijeet Duddala won Bigg Boss Telugu 4 on 20 December 2020, and won it with half the advertised money: the pot was ₹50 lakh until Syed Sohel Ryan accepted ₹25 lakh of it to step out of the race on finale night. Nineteen contestants went in, 12 were voted out and two walked out over 105 days on Star Maa, and five were still inside at the end. Bigg Boss 10 Telugu voting has the current poll and results.

Season 4's mark put the show's eye above the wordmark rather than the numeral inside it, lit blue and red. Star Maa unveiled it in July 2020, six weeks before the season it ran over for all 105 days.

How Bigg Boss Telugu 4 voting, nominations and evictions worked
A weekly cycle that ran for fifteen weeks: housemates nominated each other, the house played for a captain, the public voted through the app, and somebody left at the weekend. Two of those weekends ended with nobody leaving, and both are on the chart above.
Nominations
Housemates nominated each other for eviction at the start of each week, and the nominees went to the public vote. The house also decided who could contest the captaincy, and an exiting housemate sometimes left a parting instruction behind — Swathi Deekshith used hers to bar Amma Rajasekhar from the following week's captaincy task, and Divi Vadthya aimed her Bigg Bomb at Lasya Manjunath on the way out. House Captain and immunity
One housemate held the captaincy each week, won through a task, and it carried immunity from that week's eviction. It also carried a real cost when a task was rigged against you — the captaincy contests are where most of the season's arguments started, and where the housemates who never won one, like Ariyana Glory, spent week after week in the nominations instead and survived every vote.
The public vote
Nominees went to a public vote that ran through the Disney+ Hotstar app — the service now called JioHotstar — with a missed-call number as the second route, one vote per number per day. The first week alone was reported as a record for the Telugu show, and the finale's five drew a reported 15.65 crore votes. Weekly totals were never published, which is why the unofficial polls that circulated each week could point one way while the result went the other. Evictions, free passes and the briefcase
Twelve housemates were voted out and two walked, and two weekends passed with nobody leaving at all. In week eight Noel Sean left mid-week on health grounds and asked that the week be elimination-free, which saved Amma Rajasekhar after he had already been announced. In week twelve Avinash polled the fewest votes and used an eviction free pass he had won, so day 84 came and went with the house intact. The last exit of the season was not an eviction either: Syed Sohel Ryan took the briefcase.

- Two outlets ran re-entry stories during the season, one of them about Kumar Sai after his eviction was called unfair. Neither happened: the 19 housemates account for 12 evictions, 2 walkouts and five finalists, with no second exit for anyone. Season 6 ran the same way two years later; Season 9 did not, and sent three back in.
What defined Bigg Boss Telugu 4
The briefcase: the twist that halved the winner's cheque
Late in the finale Bigg Boss offered ₹25 lakh — half the advertised ₹50 lakh prize — to any one of the last three who would step out of the race. Abijeet Duddala and Akhil Sarthak turned it down; Syed Sohel Ryan took it, and Nagarjuna Akkineni added ₹10 lakh of his own, so the man who finished third left with ₹35 lakh and the man who won left with ₹25 lakh in cash and a bike. This is where that twist started. It came back in Season 6, where the runner-up took ₹40 lakh and the winner was left with ₹10 lakh, and again in Season 7. The season COVID-19 pushed back three months
Season 4 was meant to launch in the last week of June 2020 and did not: the pandemic pushed it to August, then to 30 August, then to 6 September 2020. Star Maa unveiled the title logo on 20 July and Nagarjuna was back on the floor shooting by the start of August. The delay is the reason this season ran into the third week of December rather than finishing in November, and the reason its finale landed in a television week with very little else in it.
The ratings nobody has beaten since
The launch opened at 18.5 TVR, reported at the time as the highest of any Bigg Boss edition in any language, and the finale was reported at 19.51 TVR nationally and 21.7 TVR across the two Telugu states. Those are the numbers that still get quoted whenever the show's best season comes up — carefully, because ratings figures for this show are quoted in several incompatible ways. A guest host, and a spin-off run by a former winner
Nagarjuna missed one weekend in fifteen — he was shooting Wild Dog in Manali — and Samantha took the chair for the Dussehra episode, which ran to three hours instead of the usual ninety minutes and sent Divi Vadthya home. It is the only eviction of the season he did not announce. Off the main show, Star Maa Music ran a companion programme, Bigg Boss 4 Buzzz, hosted by Rahul Sipligunj — who had won Season 3 nine months earlier — with the evicted housemates every Monday.
