Official Voting vs Our Fan Poll: What's the Difference?
Only the show's official vote decides who stays in Bigg Boss Telugu. The poll we run is an unofficial opinion poll. Here's how to tell the two apart.
Search “Bigg Boss Telugu vote” and you will find dozens of sites with a big “vote now” button, including this one. Almost none of them are the real vote. The difference is worth knowing, because only one kind of vote actually decides who goes home.
The official vote
The official vote is the one the show itself runs. In Season 9, established media reported two official routes: voting inside the JioHotstar app, and, in the finale week, official missed-call numbers for each contestant. Those are the votes the show counts, and they are what keeps a contestant in the house. The method for Season 10 hasn’t been announced yet. Our fan poll
The poll we run during the season is an unofficial audience opinion poll. It is a way to see which way fan sentiment is leaning before the result is announced, nothing more. It is not connected to the show, the numbers do not feed into the official count, and it has no effect on who stays or leaves. We label it clearly wherever it appears, and we never present it as the real vote.
Is the online voting official?
Only if it is part of the vote the show runs. A poll on a fan site, ours or anyone else’s, is not the official vote, however it is styled. Be cautious of sites that copy the show’s look, display live “results”, or ask you to log in or share personal details to “make your vote count”. Phone numbers also circulate for “missed call” voting. Only ones published through an official channel count, so treat any number you can’t trace back to the show with suspicion.
A quick way to tell them apart
- Official: a vote the show itself runs, during the announced window, through the methods it publishes.
- Unofficial: any poll or “vote” button on a website (this site included), or any number or link you cannot trace back to the show.
That is the whole rule. If it is not part of the show’s official vote, it does not change the result, however convincing it looks. To take part for real, use the official JioHotstar app when voting is open.
