Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1: winner, top 5, contestants and every elimination
Siva Balaji won Bigg Boss Telugu 1 in 2017, the first Telugu season and the only one Jr NTR presented. He outlasted 15 contestants over 70 days on Star Maa, through 11 evictions and one walkout, and beat Aadarsh Balakrishna by about nine lakh votes on 24 September 2017. The finale drew close to twelve crore votes. Siva Balaji took about 3.34 crore of them and Aadarsh Balakrishna 3.25 crore, a margin of under one per cent.

The show arrived in Telugu with the format's own eye set over the title on a dark maroon field, and no season numeral at all, because there was no previous season to tell it apart from. It ran under that mark on Star Maa for all 70 days of 2017.

Each bar is one housemate's run, from the day they walked in to the day they walked out, on the season's own 70-day clock. Counted in days inside the house, not broadcast dates or week numbers. The two bars that start late are the wild cards. Two weekends sent housemates out on both nights, which is why two exits land on a Saturday. The one row with a dash is Mumaith Khan's first eviction. She was voted out and moved to the secret room rather than sent home, and no report we trust dates it, so the chart fades that notch instead of naming a day.

How Bigg Boss Telugu 1 voting, nominations and evictions worked
The first Telugu season set the weekly shape the show still runs: nominate early in the week, vote through it, hear the result from the host at the weekend. It is also where the secret room, the wild card and the weekend double eviction arrived in Telugu.
Nominations
Housemates nominated each other at the start of each week, face to face and with a reason attached, and the names with the most nominations went to the public. Every eviction this season came out of that vote; nobody was sent home any other way. There was no commoner side of the room either. All fourteen who walked in on launch night were working performers, presenters or critics. All 162 nominations of the season, and the names behind each one, are in the Season 1 nominations grid.
House Captain and immunity
A weekly task decided who ran the house, and the captain was usually safe from that week's nomination. It did not always hold. Mumaith Khan was captain in the week the public vote sent her out for good, and Jr NTR said so on air as he read the result.
The public vote
Nominees went to a public vote through Hotstar, the app now called JioHotstar, with missed-call numbers as a second route. The show still runs both. Star Maa published a total only once, for the finale: 11.95 crore votes across the five finalists. No weekly totals were released then or since. Evictions, the secret room and coming back
Eleven of the twelve exits came from the vote. The odd one out was Sampoornesh Babu, who asked to go on day 9 and went. Two weekends ran a double eviction across two nights: Mahesh Kathi and Kalpana Raghavendar in week four, Dhanraj and Kathi Karthika in week six. Once, instead of sending an evicted housemate home, the show put her in a secret room and later let her back in. Mumaith Khan played the rest of the season on that second life and was evicted again on day 49.

- Fourteen housemates, every one of them from film, television, radio or the newsroom. It is the one Telugu season with no commoners in it. They were Archana Shastry, Sameer Hasan, Mumaith Khan, Prince Cecil, Madhu Priya, Jyothi, Siva Balaji, Kalpana Raghavendar, Mahesh Kathi, Kathi Karthika, Sampoornesh Babu, Aadarsh Balakrishna, Hari Teja, Dhanraj.

- Diksha Panth came in as the season's first wild card, the night after the second eviction, and stayed to day 63 — later than ten of the fourteen who had started ahead of her.

- Navdeep rode in on a Royal Enfield in the same episode that sent Kalpana Raghavendar out, one in and one out, and finished fourth. No other wild card in the show's first two seasons reached a finale.
What defined Bigg Boss Telugu 1
Jr NTR hosted it, and only it
Bigg Boss Telugu 1 was Jr NTR's television debut, and NDTV called it the most expensive Telugu programme ever made. The launch went out at a 16.18 TVR and made Star Maa the most-watched Telugu channel that week. He did not come back. Nani took the second season and Nagarjuna has had every one since, which the Bigg Boss Telugu winners list sets out season by season.
Seventy days, and no season has been that short since
The house ran ten weeks, not fifteen. Season 2 went to 112 days and every season from the third to the ninth has landed on 105, so Season 1 is the shortest by five full weeks. That is one reason its cast is sixteen rather than the twenty-odd a modern season carries. The Season 2 record covers the season that followed, which ran longer still.
A house in Lonavala, and a cast with no commoners
The set was built in Lonavala, in Maharashtra, rather than anywhere in the Telugu states, and the fourteen people who walked into it were all professionals: actors, singers, a comedian, a film critic and a news anchor. Public auditions arrive with Season 2, and Agnipariksha now runs them.
A finish inside one per cent
Star Maa gave a number for the finale and has not done it since: 11.95 crore votes, of which Siva Balaji took roughly 3.34 crore and Aadarsh Balakrishna roughly 3.25 crore. That is a gap of about nine lakh votes, under one per cent of the poll, and no other Telugu final has a published count to check it against. Bigg Boss Telugu 1 voting and the Season 10 vote
Season 1's vote ran through the Hotstar app and a set of missed-call numbers, and the same two routes carry the vote today under the JioHotstar name.
