Singer Jhansi — Gundeboina Jhansi in full — is a Telangana folk singer who sings while she farms, and one of the fifteen contestants entering the Bigg Boss Agnipariksha 2 house. Her verified Instagram carries 751,000 followers, her YouTube channel another 324,000 — built on videos of her doing real paddy work in Komatikunta village with a folk song going the whole time.
Who is Singer Jhansi?
Ask her the question her interviewers keep asking — Singer Jhansi or Farmer Jhansi? — and she picks Farmer Jhansi. She is a farmer’s daughter from Suryapet district who has worked her family’s fields since Class 9, and the singing rides on top of the work: live folk songs performed mid-task, pulling a seed drill through a flooded field, transplanting paddy, driving the tractor. Her reels run under #farmerlife and #hardworker, and none of it is staged for the camera — the fields came first, the account came later.
Singer Jhansi’s age and date of birth
She is 23, born on 28 November 2002, and she turns 24 this November. None of her interviews mention it — her age was the one blank in an otherwise unusually well-documented record, and with an M.Sc. already finished at 23, the education timeline runs ahead of most people her age.
Singer Jhansi’s real name
Her full name is Gundeboina Jhansi — it’s the name on her verified Instagram profile. “Singer Jhansi” is the account name her brother created, and “Farmer Jhansi” is what she has said she’d rather be called. She is not Jhansi the Telugu anchor-turned-actress — that is a different person entirely.
Singer Jhansi images and photos
Transplanting season with the field crew — the post that started everything was a selfie she shot herself in a field like this.
Tractor driving is on her real résumé — Class 9 onwards.
Mid-song in a dry field. The folk songs happen where the work happens.
Lunch on the bund, mud still on the shirt — a working farmer’s midday.
The paddy she sings about, in hand at harvest.
With her parents — Saidulu, the farmer, and Hemalatha, who runs the home.
For the father who worked the fields alone — until she joined him in Class 9.
With Tarun Kumar — the brother who built the accounts, runs @thetharunshow, and shows up in the reels himself.
Where is Singer Jhansi from?
Komatikunta, a village in Chivvemla mandal of Suryapet district, Telangana. She was born there, farms there, and did all her studying in Suryapet. Her native place isn’t a backdrop she visits for reels; it’s where the paddy that’s actually hers gets planted.
Singer Jhansi’s education
She holds an M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry. The road there: Telugu-medium schooling through Class 10, where she scored an 8.5 GPA, then MPC in English medium with 926 marks in Intermediate, then degree scores around the 9-point mark — including one semester she’d promised her father she’d top, and did, with a 10 out of 10. The ambition she talks about beyond music is a government job, the Sub-Inspector route in particular.
Singer Jhansi’s career: folk songs from the paddy fields
She has been singing since Class 3. Her first stage song was “Aadapillanamma”, the Madhu Priya number, at a school Independence Day programme, and teachers kept putting her up at school events after that. Nobody formally trained her; she learned songs by listening and practising them herself. The repertoire now runs across Telangana folk, farmer songs, movement songs, devotional numbers and family songs — and some she writes herself, including songs for her late maternal uncle and her grandparents. By the time of her interviews she had five or six studio recordings behind her, with releases like Ramreddy Dhora, Adda Batalakada Nalla Sarangulaiah and Kasaram Katta on streaming platforms including JioSaavn.
How Singer Jhansi went viral
The accounts weren’t her idea. Her younger brother Tarun Kumar decided that videos of his sister doing serious farm work — the kind people call men’s work — would land, built the “Singer Jhansi” pages, and filmed her doing what she was already doing. The post that blew up, though, was one she shot herself: a selfie video in the field, uploaded while Tarun was away. By the next morning T News’s Dhoom Dham Muchatlu had picked it up, and a village account became a public one. Roughly a year of that took her to seven lakh Instagram followers and three lakh YouTube subscribers by her own count in interviews — 751K and 324K as of 12 August 2026. Her Instagram bio still credits him — “managed by @thetharunshow” — and he’s no longer just the one holding the phone: he posts on his own account and turns up in her reels himself.
Singer Jhansi Bigg Boss: the chance she said she’d take
She called this one in advance. Asked in an interview whether she’d take a Bigg Boss chance if one ever came, she said she would — and it came. It also asks more of her than any stage so far: for the first time since the account began, the songs will have to work without the fields under them, in front of cameras her brother isn’t holding. What travels with her is what built the following in the first place — a voice nobody trained, a repertoire she partly wrote herself, and the work ethic of someone who has pulled a seed drill through a flooded field for real.

Yes. She came through Agnipariksha into the house, and she is one of the sixteen contestants on Bigg Boss Telugu 10, which premieres on Star Maa at 7 pm on Sunday 6 September 2026 and streams on JioHotstar. Nagarjuna Akkineni hosts.
Agnipariksha is Bigg Boss Telugu’s selection show, and it was the route in: fifteen commoners competed through its run for a place inside the main house. Six of them got one, Singer Jhansi among them. Season 1 set the precedent — six of its commoners entered the Season 9 house, and one of them, Kalyan Padala, won the whole season. From here the weekly Bigg Boss 10 voting decides how long she stays.
Singer Jhansi’s fellow Bigg Boss Telugu 10 contestants

Among the ten celebrities in the house with her are Varshini Sounderajan, who anchors Jabardasth, and Debjani Modak, the Kolkata actress Telugu audiences know as Veda from Ennenno Janmala Bandham. Bigg Boss Agnipariksha 2 voting and Singer Jhansi
Agnipariksha’s vote is behind her. It ran through the Hotstar app and missed-call numbers, the audience vote and the jury together decided who went through, and it put her in the main house. The Agnipariksha Bigg Boss voting guide still carries how that round worked.
Singer Jhansi’s family
Father, mother and siblings
Her father, Saidulu, is a farmer who has done whatever the family needed doing over the years — electrical work, motor winding, cable work, a spell driving a school bus. Her mother, Hemalatha, runs the home. Jhansi is the third of four: her eldest sister Kalyani has a postgraduate degree in Mathematics and married shortly before one of Jhansi’s interviews; her second sister Kaveri finished GNM nursing and works a private job; and her younger brother Tarun Kumar is the one who built and still manages her online life — while running his own account, @thetharunshow, and appearing in her posts himself. She started working the fields in Class 9 for a simple reason she has repeated in interviews: her father was doing it all alone.
Is Singer Jhansi married?
No. She is unmarried, and she has said she never really thought about marriage — her focus has been her education, the farm and her father — and that when the time comes she would go with her father’s choice. No relationship is on her public record.
Singer Jhansi caste
She has never spoken about her caste, and it isn’t part of her public record — so anything you read on it, including this, is inference. The Gundeboina surname is most commonly found among Telangana’s Yadav (Golla) community, and that is the basis for the assumption that she belongs to it. Unless she addresses it herself, treat that as an educated guess from the surname, not a confirmed fact.
