Question

Who is the voice of Bigg Boss?

Bigg Boss Telugu has never credited its voice, and Telugu media doesn't agree on the name. Two dubbing artists have been reported for the same job, in the same week.

For Bigg Boss Telugu, nobody knows for certain, and that’s the honest answer rather than a dodge. The show has never credited the voice in nine seasons. Telugu media has reported two different dubbing artists for the job, Renukuntla Shankar and Radha Krishna, and both names are reported rather than confirmed.

The voice is meant to work that way. Bigg Boss is a character, not a presenter, and the character has no face.

Who gave voice to Bigg Boss in Telugu?

Two names, both reported, both from September 2023 and the launch of Season 7.

Renukuntla Shankar is the one most established Telugu outlets settle on, and the profile they give him is specific: a senior dubbing artist of roughly seventeen years, serials first and then films, the Telugu voice for big Hindi stars including Amitabh Bachchan, and the Telugu dub of CID. He voices what the writers hand him, several times a day, all season.

Radha Krishna is the other, described as a prominent dubbing artist who has voiced the show since Season 1.

Here’s the part other pages skip. On 13 September 2023, 10TV named Shankar and TV9 Telugu named Radha Krishna, on the same day, for the same job. Neither has retracted. A third report that week ran both names together as though they belonged to one man, which nothing else supports.

So which one do you believe? Our read is that the weight of Telugu coverage sits with Shankar, roughly three established outlets to one. Worth knowing. It still isn’t proof, because the reporting behind both names shares a weakness.

Why nobody can give you a definitive name

Because the show has never given one. We went looking in both languages, through the newsroom coverage and the franchise’s own material. Telugu Wikipedia’s page for the series lists the host for every season and credits no voice artist at all. Every report presents the name as its own reporting, not as an announcement from Star Maa.

Here’s what makes the conflict readable. Both versions of the story carry the same three details: producers are reported to have auditioned around 100 voices before the first season, the voice has run since Season 1, and the modulation shifted after the first season or two. Identical anecdote, different name in the middle of it. That looks like one story travelling with an unstable name attached, not two independent accounts of two different people.

There’s also a tidier explanation doing the rounds, that one of them assists or stands in for the other. It would resolve everything neatly. No established outlet carries it, so we’re leaving it where we found it.

Why the Bigg Boss voice is anonymous

Because that’s the format, not a Telugu quirk. Bigg Boss adapts Big Brother, the Dutch show developed by John de Mol Jr., and the Telugu edition is made by Endemol Shine India. In every version of it the house answers to a voice from the walls that gives instructions, opens tasks, calls people to the confession room and never appears.

Put a face and a credit on that and you get a person with opinions, whom housemates could argue with. Leave it uncredited and it stays authority. Whether the anonymity is deliberate policy or just something nobody has bothered to publish, we can’t say. The effect is the same.

The voice and the host are two different jobs

Worth separating, because searches for one often mean the other. Nagarjuna Akkineni hosts Bigg Boss Telugu. He’s on screen at weekends, in front of the housemates, and he has hosted since Season 3. The voice runs the house the rest of the week and is never seen.

You’ll hear housemates say “Bigg Boss” to the ceiling. That’s the voice they’re addressing, not Nagarjuna. Who’s fronting Season 10, and where it airs, is on the premiere and timing page.

Who is the voice of Bigg Boss in other languages?

A different artist in each one. The Hindi edition is the useful comparison: its narrator is publicly known as Vijay Vikram Singh, who gives interviews under his own name about the work. Telugu has no equivalent. Same format, same production house, two completely different levels of public identity.

Will Season 10 have a new voice?

Nothing has been announced, and it’s not the kind of thing the show announces. If the voice you hear on launch night sounds like the one from Season 9, that will be your own ear telling you, not a credit roll. We’ll update this page the day anyone officially confirms a name, which would be a first.

For the season that voice presides over, the Season 10 voting page follows every week, and how to vote covers the part it announces.
